Curaçao is the largest island in the Netherlands Antilles group and lies in the Caribbean Sea just 35 miles off the north coast of Venezuela, and some 200 miles north west of the Venezuelan capital of Caracas. Curaçao lies well below the hurricane belt and is not prone to natures savage storms.
